Gym: Fashion, Place and Time
You'd probably be wondering if it's a worthy subject. What should you wear to the gym? When should you go to the gym? Should you use an indoor gym or work outdoors? I think it's a worthy subject.
Workout Time
You can workout at anytime. I remember working out at the front porch last year when one of the neighbours saw me and thought this was torture, since it was passed noon. Well, mid-day workout isn't fun even with air conditioning but that doesn't mean mid-day workout is a waste. If you've been skipping sessions, perhaps you have no choice but workout at mid-day.
However, the timing of your workout isn't so much about the weather as it is about the nature of your stomach. It's much better working out when you are on an empty stomach making the morning hours the best time to workout just before breakfast or the evening before dinner which should be taken between 6 to 8pm. Lately, I've been advocating for fast circles for my clients and readers. You can only follow a fast circle if you workout at mornings or evenings .
So basically the best time to workout is at mornings when you are fresh and 'empty' or at evenings just before dinner. Evening workouts are great because they give this trajectory (workout-food-sleep) but that happens when you finish your evening session before the time your fast circle starts, which shouldn't be passed 8pm.
Where To Workout?
Just as you can workout at anytime, you can workout anywhere, it's up to you, I mean if you are creative and know what to do with an empty room with a mat, a straight wall or a chair.
Choosing a place to workout is subject to weather conditions, I'm no fan of working under the rain or scorching sun but do you if that serves your taste. The best place to workout is a gym house or at an out door fitness facility. You can workout at home while browsing programs to do with what's available or by downloading an app and following instructions. Motivation on the other hand can be boosted when workout at the gym or outdoors where you can meet other enthusiasts. If you workout at home, you may need a fitness trainer to guide and motivate you.
What To Wear?
For the ladies, I'd say a sport bra should be the first item on your mind as you wouldn't want your breast bouncing painfully as you do your stairs or step workout.
Generally, you should wear something comfy, i.e. not too tight and at the same time, not too loosed.
Weather should be a consideration as well as the place of workout. During Summer, light colored clothing is ideal especially for outdoor workout and during winter you may want to wear dark coloured clothing.
Your foot wear is also important especially when doing cardio or squats. They should be sturdy and have cushioned or threaded soles. They should also have foot supports that are raised and curved for balance. You may want to wear the right footwears for the right activity, soccer boots for soccer, tennis shoes for tennis and running shoes for sprints.
