Seven Steps On Taking Selfies
Why should you care about this post? Social media of course. If you are reading this then you probably care so don't judge yourself for being vain. Selfies used to be a thing for girls but more guys now have to take selfies especially because sometimes your lady would want to take one with you.
Another reason why you'd probably care about taking selfies is if you are hunting on social media. Yes, social media hook ups have lead to marriages and you really need to give a good first impression if you want guys sliding in or if you want girls responding.
Thirdly, you may want this for business, if you are a model or the face of your brand. You will have to attract customers with good selfies. Here are a few tips to take the best selfies:
- Improve your facial features by working out. See: Four Proven Ways To Burn Facial Fat.
- Get a good device for selfies. Apple and Samsung phones lead in this venture. But remember, it's not about the camera but about your photographic skills.
- Get a good background. As far as Instagram is concerned, background is everything. Don't overlook this detail.
- Lightening is important so wait on the sunlight window. The sunlight window is the time between 7 am to 8am or 4pm to 5pm when the sun is bright but not scorching. Find the best lightening just before taking a shot. You can do this by moving on same spot in 360 degree while watching for improved brightness on your screen. Adjust the brightness if you have to, but it's better to find good lightening naturally.
- Find your best angle by practicing. Most people find that placing the phone above the face gives them a better appearance. But that's if you have a slim nose or large nostrils that should be hidden. Taking side selfies could be your answer.
- Use a timer to keep at ease. Sometimes, being at ease and waiting on the camera to shoot might give a better photo. Use a 3 second timer as 10 seconds might be too long a time to wait and that would weary you hands which should be firm all through.
- Keep filters to a minimum, the idea is to make it look all natural. In my opinion, a photograph that needs filtering or editing is a bad picture.
